Urban policy: 1.6 million french households receiving Family Allowance Funds (Caisses d’allocations familiales - CAF) payments in neighbourhoods in december 2018
Almost three quarters of the residents of a priority neighbourhood under the urban policy receive at least one legal benefit paid by the family allowance funds, compared to just under half in the rest of the country. Among recipient households, couples with children are less present in these neighbourhoods, whereas single people, couples without children and single-parent families are over-represented. In the priority neighbourhoods, the proportion of recipients receiving means-tested benefits is higher, due to the fact that these populations have the least financial resources.
