The commentary shows variations of subsections by decreasing contribution to the overall evolution. The contribution of a subsection depends on the extent of the change and on its weight.

In October 2019, the turnover decreased again in the manufacturing industry (−0.5% after −0.8% in September). It also fell again in industry as a whole (−0.6% after −0.6%).

Export turnover increased in October (+1.7% after being stable in September).

Virtual stability over the last three months (−0.1%)

Over the last three months (August to October), the turnover was virtually stable both in the manufacturing industry (−0.1%) and in industry as a whole (−0.1%), compared to the previous three months. Within manufacturing, the turnover fell strongly in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (−5.3%) and more moderately in the manufacture of transport equipment (−0.6%) and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (−0.6%). It was stable in the manufacture of food products and beverages and increased in “other manufacturing” (+0.7%).
