Insee FocusEmployment picks up again in all regions in 2017

In 2017, employment again picked up considerably in France: +338,000, following the +212,000 the previous year. It is led by the dynamism of market services. Employment has started rising again in construction. It is practically stable in industry after sixteen years of decline. However, it is slowing down in non-market services. In 2017, for the second consecutive year, employment rose across all regions. It is most dynamic in Pays de la Loire, Brittany and Ile-de-France (the Greater Paris area).
