In April, output bounced back in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply (+3.2% after −0.8%)

Output bounced back stongly in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+4.1% after −1.2%).

Output bounced back in “other manufacturing” (+0.5% after −2.0%)

Output bounced back particularly in pharmaceuticals (+7.6% after −10.2%), in the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel, leather and related products (+5.4% after −0.4%) and more moderatly in chemicals (+0.6% after −4.4%). Conversely, it was still shrinking in manufacturing of rubber and plastics products, and other non−metallic mineral products (−1.6% after −0.8%) and in other manufacturing, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (−0.9% after −0.5%). It slipped back in the manufacture of wood, paper and printing industries (−1.6% after +0.6%) and in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (−0.2% after +0.3%).

Output increased in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.6% after −1.1%)

Output bounced back strongly in the processing and preserving of meat and production of meat products and it decreased again in the manufacture of other food products.

Output slowed down in machinery and equipment goods (+0.6% after +1.4%)

Output kept growing strongly in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (+3.3% after +3.5%). On the contrary , it slipped back in the manufacture of electrical equipment (−3.1% after +1.3%) and it continued to decrease in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (−0.4% after −0.7%).

Output shrank markedly in the manufacture of transport equipment (−3.2% after −0.3%)

Output decreased in the manufacture of other transport equipment (−4.4% after −0.2%) and in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi−trailers (−1.6% after −0.4%).

Output kept diminishing in petroleum and refined products (−1.5% after −1.8%)

Output decreased in petroleum and refined products because of an extended technical stop due to an incident in a raffinery.
