Between 2012 and 2017, the number of public service access points increased. This was particularly true for certain local services (taxis, construction tradesmen, etc.). These changes did little to change the hierarchy between regions, those in the South still having more access points per inhabitant. Reflected across the population, services are being established more quickly in large conurbations, particularly in the suburbs, than in smaller urban areas.
