Winter tourist season 2017-2018 Dynamic visitor traffic to urban areas and ski resorts
Looking at collective tourist accommodation in mainland France, visitor numbers in the 2017-2018 winter season were 7.8% higher than in the winter of 2016-2017.
In the Greater Paris Region, it reached record levels after a sharp rise, comparable in scale to that of the previous winter. Across the nation, tourist activity was also dynamic, whether at ski resorts, in urban areas or along the coast.
Non-resident clientele numbers have increased more than that of resident clientele: +13.6% as compared to +5.6%, thus amplifying the trend of the previous winter. This is partly the result of a catch-up phenomenon.
