In February 2018, output decreased again in the manufacturing industry (−0.6% after −1.0% in January). On the contrary, it bounced back in the whole industry (+1.2% after −1.8%).

In February 2018, output decreased again in the manufacturing industry (−0.6% after −1.0% in January). On the contrary, it bounced back in the whole industry (+1.2% after −1.8%).
Manufacturing output went down over the last three months (−0.7%)
Output decreased over the last three months in the manufacturing industry (−0.7%) as well as in the overall industry (−0.4%).
Output went down in “other manufacturing” (−1.2%), in the manufacture of transport equipment (−0.8%) and in the manufacture of food products and beverages (−0.7%). Conversely, it increased in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply (+1.8%), in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (+1.0%) and in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+1.3%).
Over a year, manufacturing output grew strongly (+3.3%)
Manufacturing output of the last three months grew strongly compared to the same months of the previous year (+3.3%), as well as in the whole industry (+3.0%).
Over a year, output grew strongly in “other manufacturing” (+2.7%), in the manufacture of transport equipment (+7.7%) and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (+5.1%). Output also increased in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply (+1.4%) and in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+2.0%). It was virtually stable in the manufacture of food products and beverages (−0.1%).

In February, output soared in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply (+11.5% after −6.3%)
Output soared in electricity, gas (+13.2% after −6.9%) because of exceptionally cold temperatures in February.
Output recovered in “other manufacturing” (+0.3% after −2.5%)
Output rose in “other manufacturing” (+0.8%), in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (+0.7%), in pharmaceuticals (+1.4%), in chemicals (+0.3%) and in the manufacture of wood, paper and printing industries (+0.2%). On the contrary, it decreased in the manufacture of rubber and plastics products and other non-metallic mineral products (−1.3%) and in textiles, wearing apparel, leather and related products (−1.5%).
Output grew again in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.7% after +2.0%)
Output continued to grow in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.7% after +2.0%) due to a new rise in the manufacture of other food products.
Output went up in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+1.9% after −0.8%)
After a fall in January (−0.8%), output bounced back in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+1.9%).
Output continued to decline in the manufacture of transport equipment (−3.2% after −0.8%)
Output fell back in the manufacture of other transport equipment (−4.7% after +1.0%) and decreased again in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (−1.3% after −2.8%).
Output slipped back in machinery and equipment goods (−2.8% after +1.7%)
Output slipped back in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (−3.6% after +0.9%) and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (−3.2% after +3.4%). It decreased in the manufacture of electrical equipment (−0.7%).
