In June 2016, prices of frequently purchased goods decreased slightly (-0.1%) after a stability in May, both in hyper and supermarkets and in large and predominantly food stores.
In June 2016, prices of frequently purchased goods decreased slightly (−0.1%) after a stability in May, both in hyper and supermarkets and in large and predominantly food stores.
Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices of frequently purchased goods recovered slightly (+0.1%, after −0.1% in the previous month).
Considering all the kinds of stores, prices of frequently purchased goods were flat over one month, as in the two previous months.
Year-on-year, prices continued to decline in hyper and supermarkets
Year-on-year, prices of frequently purchased goods in hyper and supermarkets dropped again by 0.3% in June. In large and predominantly food stores, they also fell by 0.3% year-on-year, as during the last four months.
By contrast, prices of frequently purchased goods continued to increase in the other kinds of stores (+0.7% year-on-year, as in May).
Considering all stores, prices of frequently purchased goods diminished moderatly year-on-year (−0.1%) as in the previous month.

Downturn in food prices in hyper and supermarkets in June
In June 2016, prices of food excluding fresh foodstuffs sold in hyper and supermarkets declined slightly (−0.1%), after a slight rise in May (+0.1%). Year-on-year, they were down by 0.2%.
The overall monthly decrease came from meat prices, which shrank in June (−0.3%). Year-on-year, these prices slowed down: +0.2% in June after +0.6% in May. In June 2015, they had declined by 0.2% year-on-year.
Beverage prices sold in hhyper and supermarkets were unchanged over one month, after a rise in the previous month (+0.2% in May). Year-on-year, their decline eased (−0.2%, after −0.3% in May and −0.5% in April).
Prices of other food products (excluding fresh foodstuffs) were stable in June. Year-on-year, they slipped by 0.4% for the eighth month in a row. In June 2015, they had declined by 1.3% year-on-year.
Slight increase in prices of cleaning and personal care products in hyper and supermarkets
In June, prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets recovered a little (+0.1% after −0.2%). Year-on-year, they decreased by 0.9%, after −1.3% in May 2016. In June 2015, their fall had been stronger year-on-year (−1.6%).
