The commentary shows variations of subsections by decreasing contribution. The contribution of a subsection depends on the extent of the change and on its weight.

In November 2015, output recovered in the manufacturing industry (+0.4% after –0.4% in October), whereas it fell back in the industry as a whole (–0.9% after +0.7% in October).

Manufacturing output rose over the last three months (+0.9%)

Over the last three months, output grew in the manufacturing sector (+0.9% q-o-q), and even more in the overall industry (+1.1%), due to a strong growth in mining, quarrying, energy and water supply (+1.9%).

Output increased in other manufacturing (+0.7%). It surged in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+17.8%). It rose markedly in the manufacture of transport equipment (+1.6%) and in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (+0.9%). Conversely, output decreased slightly in the manufacture of food products and beverages (–0.4%).

Over the year, manufacturing output increased sharply (+2.0%)

Manufacturing output of the last three months improved sharply compared to the same months of 2014 (+2.0% y-o-y). For that same period, overall industrial output grew even more (+2.8% y-o-y), due to mining, quarrying, energy and water supply (+6.1%).

Over the year, output rose in all sectors. It expanded markedly in other manufacturing (+1.5%), in the manufacture of transport equipment (+4.9%) and in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment (+2.4%). It went up more moderately in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.9%). It jumped in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+7.3%).
