According to the business managers surveyed in January 2014, economic outlook climate stays deteriorated in the building crafts sector.

Activity stays sluggish

In January 2014, fewer craftsmen than in October indicate a decrease in their past activity. Conversely, more craftsmen indicate a fall in their expected activity. The corresponding balances of opinion stay significantly below their long-term average.

The general business outlook, which expresses the craftsmen’s opinion on the overall change in the sector, is quasi stable, the corresponding balance of opinion remains below its long-term average.

Decreasing employment

According to the craftsmen, employment stays on unfavorable trend. The corresponding balances of opinion remain below their long-term average.

Recruiting problems increase slightly

Recruiting problems concerned around one firm out of three. This proportion remains inferior to its long-term average. The rate of businesses training apprentices remains stable at 37 %.
