According to the business managers surveyed in October 2013, activity in public works has still gone up in the third quarter, but might fall back in the fourth quarter.

In October 2013, the judgment about past activity recovers

The balance of opinion on past activity increased again, and is now well above its long-term average. On the contrary, the balance of opinion corresponding to expected activity went down compared to the previous quarter, and fell below its long-term average.

Business managers are as numerous as in July to consider their order books higher than normal for this period of the year.

Still few obstacles to production

Obstacles to production remain at a very low level: only 7 % of the businesses indicate to be constrained because of workforce shortage.

Employment may remain on its recent trend

In view of the business managers’ expectations, employment might stay on its recent trend for the next few month. The corresponding balance of opinion stays at its long-term average.
