In May 2011, the turnover went up in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.5 %) after a fall (–4.6 %) in april 2011. It also increased in household services (+1.3 %). The turnover in accommodation and food service activities was broadly steady (0.0 %). It weakened in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–1.5 %).
Every index in this issue is in volume, seasonally and working-day adjusted.

Quarter on quarter (q-o-q), the turnover grew in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.9%), in accommodation and food service activities (+0.8%). It was quite stable in the “retail trade…” (0.0%) and in household services (–0.1%).
Year on year (y-o-y), the turnover rose in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+5.5%), in the “retail trade…” (+2.7%), in accommodation and food services activities (+1.2%) and, to a lesser extent, in households services (+0.3%).
According to our estimate, the turnover in the “retail trade…” is expected to bounce in June 2011 (+0.6%).
The April’s indexes have been barely revised. The variation has been confirmed in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, in the “retail trade...”, in accommodation and food service activities and in household services.
