In March 2011, the turnover weakened (-0,7%) in the manufacturing industry, after a growth (+1,3%) in Feb-ruary. Exports went down in March (–1.2%, after +0,7% in February).
Every indices in this issue are in value, seasonally and working-day adjusted.
In March 2011, the turnover weakened (-0,7%) in the manufacturing industry, after a growth (+1,3%) in February. Exports went down in March (–1.2%, after +0,7% in February).
In March, the turnover fell in the manufacture of transport equipment (–3.0%), particularly in the manufacture of other transport equipment (–6.2%).
The turnover also decreased in the electrical and electronic equipment ; machine equipment (–0.8%) and in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–1.0%).
It went up in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.4%) and was broadly stable in the other manufacturing (–0.1%)
The turnover of the industry as a whole (B to E) declined in March (–0.6%).

Quarter-on-quarter (Q/Q–1), the turnover in the manufacturing industry grew by 4.8%. It was mostly up in the other manufacturing (+4.6%) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (+5.6%).
Year-on-year (Q/Q–4), the turnover in manufacturing industry rose by 10.9%. It particularly grew in the other manufacturing (+11.2%).
