In October 2010, the turnover in manufacturing industry declined by 0.7%, after having rised in September (+0.5%). Exports went slightly down (–0.3%), after –0.5% in September.
Every indices in this issue are in value, seasonally and working-day adjusted.
In October 2010, the turnover in manufacturing industry declined by 0.7%, after having rised in September (+0.5%). Exports went slightly down (–0.3%), after –0.5% in September.
The turnover dropped in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–7.8%), due to social movements in October. It also declined in the manufacture of transport equipment (–2.6%).
In October, the turnover was up in the electrical and electronic equipment ; machine equipment (+0.9%) and in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.6%).
The turnover of the industry as a whole (B to E) decreased in October by –0.5%.

On a quarterly basis (Q/Q–1), the turnover in manufacturing industry rose by 0.6%. It primarily went up in the electrical and electronic equipment ; machine equipment (+2.5%) and in the other manufacturing (+0.8%). On the contrary, it went down in the manufacture of transport equipment (–1.2%).
Compared to the same three months of the previous year, the turnover in manufacturing industry grew by 6.0% (Q/Q–4). It notably rised in the other manufacturing (+6.8%) and in the electrical and electronic equipment ; machine equipment (+8.6%).
