In September 2010, the turnover went up in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4 ). Conversely, it slightly declined in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.4 %), in accommodation and food services (–0.5 %), and in household services (–0.5 %).
Every index in this issue is in volume, seasonally and working-day adjusted.
In September 2010, the turnover went up in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4 ). Conversely, it slightly declined in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.4 %), in accommodation and food services (–0.5 %), and in household services (–0.5 %).
Compared to Q2 2010, the turnover of Q3 2010 increased in the “retail trade…” (+1.8 %) and in accommodation and food service activities (+0.6 %) compared to the three previous months. In the opposite, it bounced back in household services (–0.4 %) and was broadly steady in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.2 %).
Compared to Q3 2009, the turnover of Q3 2010 was up in the “retail trade…” (+5.1 %), in accommodation and food services activities (+2.9 %) and, to a lesser extent, in the trade and repair of motor vehicles (+0.7 %). It slightly weakened in households services (–0.3 %).
According to our estimate, the turnover in the “retail trade…” is expected to be broadly stable in October 2010 (–0.1 %).
The SA-WDA evolution in August has been revised by –0.9 point in accommodation and food services. The increase, initially announced at +1.9 %, has been corrected at +1.0 %; the sector of restaurants and mobile food service activities has notably been revised. In the same period, the turnover’s variation has been corrected by –0.1 point in the “retail trade...” whereas it has been confirmed in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and in household services.
