In October 2010, the turnover decreased in transportation and storage but increased in the other sectors Turnover in the wholesale trade and business services - October 2010

In October 2010, the turnover dropped in the sector of transportation and storage (–1.7 %), especially due to strikes over pension reform. On the contrary, it grew in information and communication (+1.1 %), in business support activities (+0.7 %) and, to a lesser extent, in the wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4 %). The turnover was broadly steady in real estate activities (+0.2 %).

In October 2010, the turnover dropped in the sector of transportation and storage (–1.7 %), especially due to strikes over pension reform. On the contrary, it grew in information and communication (+1.1 %), in business support activities (+0.7 %) and, to a lesser extent, in the wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4 %). The turnover was broadly steady in real estate activities (+0.2 %).

In the last three months, the turnover expanded compared to three previous months : +1.8 % in transportation and storage, +1.4 % in the “wholesale trade...”, +1.2 % in the sector of information and communication, +1.1 % in business support activities and +0.9 % in real estate activities.

Compared to the three same months of the previous year, the turnover also increased : +7.5 % in transportation and storage, +7.3 % in the “wholesale trade...”, +5.3 % in the sector of information and communication, +3.4 % in business support activities and +2.8 % in real estate activities.

The SA-WDA evolution in September has been revised by +0.1 point in real estate activities and by –0.1 point in transportation and storage. In the same period, the turnover’s variation has been confirmed in the “wholesale trade...”, in the sector of information and communication and in business support activities.
