In May 2010, the manufacturing production increased by 0.5% in volume. It had increased by 0.3% in April (+0.4% initially announced). In the industry, the production increased also in May (+1.7% after -0.5%). In the last three months (quarter-on-quarter change), the production rose in the manufacturing sector (+2.4%) as well as in the industry as a whole (+2.2%).

During the quarter, the production was boosted by the “other manufacturing” (+1.0% q-o-q), the electrical, electronic equipment and machine equipment (+3.4%) and the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+15.7%). It slightly decreased in the manufacture of transport equipment (-0.6%, quarter-on-quarter change).
…and exceeded the last year level by 8.2%
The manufacturing production rose by 8.2% (y-o-y). However, it still remains under the level reached before the crisis.
It soared in the “other manufacturing” (+9.7%) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (+18.4%). It also increased in the electrical and electronic equipment and machine equipment (+3.4%).
