In March 2010, the turnover grew in the wholesale trade except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.7 %). It rose a little in “transportation and storage” (+0.4 %), after jumping in February (+2.9 %), and in real estate activities (+0.4 %). It slightly decreased in “information and communication” (–0.2 %) and in business support activities (–0.3 %).
Every index in this issue is in value, seasonally and working-day ajusted.
In March 2010, the turnover grew in the wholesale trade except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.7 %). It rose a little in “transportation and storage” (+0.4 %), after jumping in February (+2.9 %), and in real estate activities (+0.4 %). It slightly decreased in “information and communication” (–0.2 %) and in business support activities (–0.3 %).
Compared to Q4 2009, the turnover of Q1 2010 increased in “transportation and storage” (+2.3 %, q-o-q), in the “wholesale trade…” (+1.8 %), in “information and communication” (+1.2 %) and in real estate activities (+0.8 %). It was nearly stable in business support activities (0.1 %). After the bounce in November 2009, it edged down in this sector.
Compared to Q1 2009, the turnover of Q1 2010 stood at a higher level in real estate activities (+2.5 %, y-o-y) and in ”information and communication” (+1.5 %). It modestly expanded in “transportation and storage” (+0.3 %). Conversely, it declined in business support activities (–2.3 %). In the “wholesale trade…”, it was still down (–0.8 %) although it edged up since October 2009.
