New orders in industry are well-nigh sluggish in November (+0.2%) Industrial new orders index - November 2009

In November 2009, new orders received in industry (except heavy transport equipment) are sluggish (0.2%), after a decrease in October (-1.7%; first estimate: –2.1%).

In November 2009, new orders received in industry (except heavy transport equipment) are sluggish (0.2%), after a decrease in October (-1.7%; first estimate: –2.1%).

Non domestic new orders went down in November (–1.0%).

Over the last quarter, new orders received in industry are almost steady (0.3%)

Over the last quarter, non domestic new orders are also stable (-0.1%).

New orders rose by 3.7% in the “other manufacturing” sector but decreased by 4.7% in “electrical and electronic equipment, and machinery” and by 5.6% in automobile.

However, new orders level is still weak compared to last year

The quarterly level of new orders is lower than a year ago (-9.8%).
