Report of the working group on e- commerce of the french national commission of distributive trade accounts

In its meeting of june 2007, the french national commission of distributive trade accounts decided to set up a working group in order to propose ways of improvement in the measurement of e-commerce. After having explored various approaches and measuring tools, the working group expressed some recommandations. It proposed to follow up the different complementary definitions used at an international level. But it also gave a specific definition that takes electronic subscriptions into account. In addition, the working group suggested to regularly broadcast various ratings based on available sources and to set up a specific survey on e-commerce. This survey could moreover describe the impact of e-commerce on firms organization.
