Data description
The LFS Mayotte questionnaire is structured around the following themes:

a description of the household and its members;
-
the status of an activity according to the ILO definition;

a detailed description of the current main job (occupation, working time, kind of contract, etc.);
-
the description of the employing institution;
-
the caracteristics of job search activities;
-
the level of education and participation in training;
-
the situation one year before the survey (place of residence, labour market situation, etc.);
-
the past and desired geographic mobility ;
-
casual activities;
-
incomes.

Statistical concepts and definitions
The survey provides a measurement of activity, employment and unemployment according to the ILO definition.
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), an employed person is a person aged 15 years or older who have worked for pay or profit for at least one hour during a given week or having a job from which being absent under conditions on the reason of absence (holidays, sick leave, maternity leave, etc.) or duration.
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO) definition, an unemployed person is a person aged 15 or over:

without a job during a given week;
-
available to start a job within the next two weeks;
-
actively having sought employment during the last four weeks or having already found a job that starts within the next three months.
Inactive are conventionally those who are neither in employment (ILO) nor unemployed: young people under 15, students and pensioners non-working to supplement their education or their retirement, men and housewives, people unable to work...
The survey provides a description of the job (status, occupation, working time...) according to european classifications / definitions.
Statistical unit
Housing, household, individual.
Statistical population
Persons aged 15 or more, living in a private household.
The ordinary housing is an housing defined by opposition to an housing in residence offering specific services (sheltered accommodation for the aged, for students, of tourism, in social vocation, for disabled persons).
Time coverage
From March to July
