Définition

The CPI and HICP are based on a sample of product families, known as product items or consumption segments. This sample is designed to reflect the heterogeneity of goods and services purchased, as defined from the eCOICOPv2 classification. These product items are chosen based on data from national accounts, household budget surveys and other sources, in order to represent a 6-digit item from the eCoicopV2.

The CPI basket comprises approximately 1,600 varieties.
