Reference person of a household

Définition

The reference person of a household is defined as the member of the household who, being in a couple, economically active (employed or unemployed), and having a child, is the eldest.
If this criterion does not apply uniquely, the reference person is determined according to the following hierarchy:
the economically active person with a partner, if unique;
otherwise, the eldest economically active person with a partner;
otherwise, the eldest person with a partner;
otherwise, the eldest economically active person with a child;
otherwise, the eldest economically active person;
otherwise, the eldest person with a child;
otherwise, the eldest person.
