In 2021, one of the secondary modules of the “Statistics on Income and Living Conditions” (SILC) survey relates to the living conditions of children whose parents are separated. As this subject has never before been addressed in the survey, Eurostat is launching a call for projects for the testing, implementation and data collection of this new module. The project initially consisted in updating the French questionnaire for the secondary module with the help of experts in the field. It was then tested by INSEE interviewers among the people around them as part of a “focus group” held in June 2020. It was then digitalised and integrated into the questionnaire for the survey, for which data was collected between 1 February and 17 April 2021. The collection of qualitative feedback on this module from the interviewers and the analysis of the survey data will be used to assess the first data collection run of this module.
