Internal Audit Office
The Internal Audit Office carries out assessments, inspections and audits on the studies, the functioning and the organisation of INSEE's central and regional services. It provides the Official Statistics Authority with the means to carry out its secretariat.
The Internal Audit Office also works to promote the implementation of INSEE strategy guidelines. The head of the Internal Audit Office is required to inform the Director General and the executive committee if there are any issues of concern regarding the operation of the official statistical system, especially in relation to INSEE's maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
The Official Statistics Authority
The Internal Audit Office can intervene at the request of the Official Statistics Authority, which has the power of referral for missions throughout the official statistical system. Finally, members of the Internal Audit Office may carry out missions in a personal capacity as senior experts.
