In January 2025, the prices of consumer products were almost stable over one month, whether sold in large-scale distribution (‑0.1%, as in December), in extended large-scale distribution (‑0.1%, as in December), in stores excluding hyper and supermarkets (+0.1%, after being stable in December) and in all kinds of stores (‑0.1%, as in December).

Year on year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again

Compared to those of the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again: ‑0.5%, after ‑0.7% in December. In large and predominantly food stores, prices decreased again year on year: ‑0.4%, after ‑0.5% in December.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased again year on year: +0.3%, as in December.

Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods were stable year on year, after being almost stable in December (‑0.1%).

Year on year, food prices in hyper and supermarkets fell again

Month on month, the prices of food and beverages (excluding fresh produces) sold in hyper and supermarkets were stable in January 2025, after being almost stable in December (‑0.1%). Year on year, these prices decreased again: ‑0.2%, as in December.

The prices of meat sold in hyper and supermarkets fell back over one month: ‑0.2% after +0.3% in December. Year on year, they decreased again: ‑0.9%, after ‑1.3% in December.

The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets rebounded over one month: +0.3%, after ‑0.1% in December. Year on year, they increased again: +0.5%, after +0.4% in December.

The prices of “other food products” were almost stable over one month: ‑0.1%, after ‑0.2% in December. Year on year, they decreased again: ‑0.2%, as in December.

Year on year, the prices of cleaning and personal care products decreased again

Month on month, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again: ‑0.9%, after ‑0.3% in December. Year on year, they decreased again: ‑2.0%, after ‑2.5% in December.
