In July 2024, the prices of consumer products fell at the same pace over one month, whether sold in large-scale distribution (‑0.2%, after ‑0.1% in June), in extended large-scale distribution (‑0.2%, after being stable in June), in stores excluding hyper and supermarkets (‑0.2% after being stable in June) and in all kinds of stores (‑0.2%, after ‑0.1% in June).

Year on year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again

Compared to those of the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again: ‑0.7% in July 2024, after ‑0.1% in June. In large and predominantly food stores, prices decreased again year on year: ‑0.5% after being stable in June.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, the prices of frequently purchased goods slowed down year on year: +0.8%, after +1.2% in June.

Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods were stable year on year, after +0.4% in June.

Year on year, food prices in hyper and supermarkets slowed down again

Month on month, the prices of food and beverages (excluding fresh produces) sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again in July 2024: ‑0.2% after being stable in June. Year on year, these prices slowed down for the first time in thirty-seven months: ‑0.3% in July, after +0.2% in June.

The prices of meat sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased over one month (‑0.4%), after being almost stable in June (+0.1%). Year on year, they decreased: ‑1.4%, after ‑0.6% in June.

The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets were almost stable: +0.1% in July, after ‑0.3% in June. Year on year, they slowed down: +0.1%, after +0.4% in June.

The prices of “other food products” decreased by 0.2% over one month, after being stable in June. Year on year, they fell again: ‑0.1%, after +0.5% in June.

Year on year, the prices of cleaning and personal care products decreased again

Month on month, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again: ‑0.3% after ‑0.1% in June. Year on year, their decline is increasing: ‑2.3%, after ‑1.9% in June.
