In December 2023, oil prices fell sharply again Prices of oil and raw material imports - December 2023
In December 2023, oil prices in euros fell sharply again (‑7.3% month-on-month after ‑10.5% in November). Prices in euros of imported raw materials (excluding energy) were virtually stable (+0.1% after +1.4%): those of industrial raw materials slowed (+1.0% after +1.6%) and those of food commodities retreated slightly (‑0.8% after +1.3%).
As the price of shrimp has not yet been published for November and December 2023 by the World Bank, it has been assumed to be constant in foreign currency terms for this publication, at its October 2023 level. This hypothesis, which may be revised subsequently, has by construction a significant impact on the aggregate price index of seafood products (and, to a lesser extent, that of food commodities).
