All data are seasonally and working-day adjusted (SA-WDA).
In June 2023, the volume of sales in trade increased again over a month (+0.9% after +1.4% in May).
In June 2023, the volume of sales went up in the three main trade sectors
In June 2023, the volume of sales in wholesale trade except that of motor vehicles and motorcycles grew again over a month (+0.8%), but less markedly than in May (+2.2%). This growth was mainly due to the household goods (+2.2% after +1.2%) and the wholesale on a fee or contract basis (+1.7% after a stability). In contrast, the volume of sales of agricultural raw materials and live animals fell back sharply (‑5.2% after +8.3%).
The volume of sales bounced back in June 2023 in retail trade except that of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.3% after ‑0.2% in May). It sped up in specialised stores (+1.3% after +0.2%) and partially recovered in non-specialised stores (+1.7%) after three consecutive months of decrease (‑1.0% in May, ‑1.2% in April, and ‑1.0% in March). Conversely, the volume of sales dropped slightly in retail trade not in stores (‑0.3% after +0.4%). Within specialised stores, most of the increase came from the “other goods” (pharmaceutical products, clothing, footwear, etc.: +1.3% after +1.0%) and food, beverages and tobacco (+5.7% after ‑1.8%).
Lastly, the volume of sales also grew in June 2023 in the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.7%), but less markedly than in May (+1.8%).
