graphiqueTotal consumption of goods

- Source: INSEE
Engineered goods: rebound
In November 2022, household consumption of manufactured goods increased by 1.1% after a 1.7% fall in October.
Durables : sharp rebound
Durable goods consumption increased by 1.8% in November 2022 after -1.6% in October. The rebound was mainly due to the rise of the purchases of transport equipment (+2.5% after -0.7% in October). The rise in housing equipment expenses (+0.9% after -3.8% in October), mainly computer purchases, contributed also to this rebound. Furthermore, consumption of other durable goods accelerated (+1.4% after +0,5% in October) because of the glasses purchases.
Textile-clothing : moderate rebound
Spending on clothing and textiles rose in November 2022 (+0.9% after -4.1% in October). This rebound concerns both spending on textile and shoes and leather.
Other engineered goods: virtual stability
Consumption of other manufactured goods was virtually stable in November 2022 (+0.1% after -0.2% in October). This very slight rebound was linked to do-it-yourself and pharmaceutical products purchases.
