In August 2022, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 1.7% over a month, after +1.5% in July. In large and predominantly food stores, these prices increased by 1.7% over a month, after +1.4% in July.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices rose by 1.7% over a month, after +1.0% in July.

Considering all kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 1.7% over a month, after +1.2% in July.

Year on year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets accelerated for the ninth consecutive month

Compared to the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets accelerated in August 2022 for the ninth consecutive month: +8.1%, after +6.4% in July. In large and predominantly food stores, the prices rose by 8.1% year on year, after +6.5% in July.

In the other kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 8.2% year on year, after +6.7% in July.

Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose by 8.2% year on year, after +6.6% in July.

Year on year, food prices in hyper and supermarkets accelerated again

Month on month, the prices of food (excluding fresh produces) sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 1.8% in August 2022, after +1.5% in July. Year on year, these prices accelerated for the tenth consecutive month: +8.6% in August, after +6.9% in July.

The prices of meat sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 1.8% month on month, after +1.7% in July. Year on year, these prices accelerated: +10.6%, after +9.0% in July.

The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets increased by 1.1% over a month, as in July. Year on year, they accelerated: +5.6%, after +4.6% in July.

The prices of other food products (excluding fresh food) increased by 2.0% over a month, after +1.7% in July. Year on year, the prices of these products accelerated: +8.9%, after +6.9% in July.

Year on year, the prices of cleaning and personal care products also accelerated

Month on month, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets increased: +1.4%, after +0.9% in July. Year on year, the prices of these products accelerated again: +5.1%, after +3.9% in July and +2.7% in June.
