In Q4 2021, the rise in house prices continued House price index - fourth quarter 2021
House prices increased once again in Q4 2021
In Q4 2021, the house prices in metropolitan France continued to rise: +1.9% compared to the previous quarter with seasonally adjusted (s.a.) data, as in the Q3 2021. For new dwellings, the rate of price growth was close to the one measured in the previous quarter (+1.4% after +1.3%); on the contrary, prices of second-hand dwellings slightly slowed down (+1.7% after +2.1% in the previous quarter).
Year on year, house prices slightly slowed down (+7.0% after +7.2% in the previous quarter). Second-hand dwellings prices grew faster (+7.2% y-o-y) than new dwellings prices (+5.4%).

Revisions
Compared to the previous publication, Q3 2021 indices were revised to include observations that had not yet been recorded. The quarter-on-quarter variation in new dwellings prices in Q3 2021 was revised slightly upwards compared to the previous publication (+1.3% instead of +1.2%), as was the variation in second-hand dwellings (+2.1% instead of +2.0%). All in all, housing prices quarter-on-quarter variation in Q3 2021 was revised upwards by 0.1 points (+1.9% instead of +1.8%).
