In Q3 2021, the rise in house prices continued House price index - third quarter 2021
House prices increased once again in Q3 2021
In Q3 2021, the house prices in metropolitan France continued to rise: +1.8% compared to the previous quarter with seasonnally adjusted (s.a.) data, after +1.7% in the previous quarter. The rate of price growth is close to the one measured in the previous quarter, for both second-hand dwellings (+2.0% after +1.9% in the previous quarter) and new dwellings (+1.2% after +1.1% in the previous quarter).
Year on year, house prices kept rising (+7.1% after +6.1% in the previous quarter). Second-hand dwellings prices grew faster (+7.4% y-o-y) than new dwellings prices (+4.7%).

Revisions
Compared to the previous publication, seasonal adjustments have been slightly revised. Moreover, the Q2 2021 indices were revised to include observations that had not yet been recorded. The quarter-on-quarter variation in new dwellings prices in Q2 2021 was revised slightly upwards compared to the previous publication (+1.1% instead of +1.0%). The variation in second-hand dwellings prices was also revised upwards (+1.9% instead of +1.5%). All in all, housing prices quarter-on-quarter variation in Q2 2021 was revised upwards by 0.3 points (+1.7% instead of +1.4%).
