In August 2021, turnover increased in all sectors
In August, turnover increased in all sectors. Turnover recovered in “other manufacturing” (+2.9% after –2.2% in July) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (+9.4% after –31.2% in July). Turnover bounced back in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (+3.0% after –4.5% in July) and more moderately in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.4% after –0.9% in July). Turnover went up slightly again in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+0.7% after +0.6%). It increased in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply; waste management (+2.9% after stability in July).
Compared to February 2020, turnover dropped very sharply in the manufacture of transport equipment (–31.6%) and to a much lesser extent in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–7.7%). Conversely, it increased in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (+2.3%), the manufactury of food products and beverages (+5.1%), “other manufacturing” (+7.7%) and mining and quarrying; energy; water supply; waste management (+19.9%), particularly in relation to the price rises.
