In June 2021, the price of oil continues to rise Prices of oil and raw material imports - June 2021
In June 2021, the price of oil in euros accelerates (+7.7% after +4.3% in May). The prices in euros of imported commodities (excluding energy) ease (+1.7% after +3.9%), as much because of the prices of industrial raw materials (+2.6% after +6.5%) than raw food materials (+1.0% after +1.8%).
For January 2021 to June 2021, in default of available data, values of pulp have simply been extended as constant, from dollars quotations. Actual data will be released once available.

Oil prices keep rising
In June 2021, the price of North Sea crude oil (Brent) in dollars accelerates (+6.8% after +5.8%) to an average of $73 per barrel. In euros, the rise is even more important (+7.7% after +4.3%).

The prices of industrial commodity ease a little
In June 2021, the prices of industrial raw materials decelerate (+2.6% after +6.5%) mainly due to mineral materials prices (+1.7% after +7.9%). Indeed, the prices of ferrous metals slacken (+3.9% after +13.9%), so does the prices of non ferrous metals (+0.4% after +4.3%). The prices of precious metals fold even slightly (−0.8% after +4.0%).
On the other hand, the prices of agricultural raw materials recover (+6.9% after −0.2%). This rebound is pulled by soaring hide prices (+33.8% after +2.3%) and the acceleration of the prices of natural textile fibres (+3.9% after +1.7%). The prices of natural rubber decrease (−1.9% after +1,1%) while tropical wood prices increase slightly (+0.5% after +0.3%).

Food commodity prices continue to slow down
In euros, the prices of imported raw food materials ease again (+1.0% after +1.8% in May and +6.8% in April). The prices of cereals fall back (−3.7% after +4.3%), as well as the prices of oil seeds (−4.0% after +5.6%), whereas meat prices stagnate (−0.2% after +1.4%). The prices of sugar (+1.0% after +4.2%) also contributes to the global easing, as well as the tropical foodstuff prices, even if their increase remains significant (+3.7% after +6.1%). Conversely, the prices of seafood products strongly recover (+7.0% after −6.3%).

Petroleum products: prices of petroleum are quotations from the Rotterdam market which supplies European market.
Indices of non-energy raw materials imported by France: the indices calculated by INSEE are monthly averages of raw materials prices, weighted by their share in the French imports of raw materials (2010 = 100).
