In June, sharp downturn in transport equipment (−10.1%)
The turnover in the manufacture of transport equipment fell back sharply in June 2019 (−10.1% after +10.6%). This fall was mainly due to the manufacture of other transport equipment (−15.9% after +17.5%) and to a lesser extent to the manufacture of motor vehicles (−1.5% after +1.8%).
Export sales of transport equipment was stable (after +3.6%).
Strong backdrop in coke and refined petroleum products (−13.4%)
The turnover in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products slipped back sharply in June 2019 (−13.4% after +0.1%).
Decrease in “other manufacturing” (−1.0%)
The turnover in “other manufacturing” fell in June (−1.0% after a stability in May). It decreased in most subsections − the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (−1.9% after −0.7%), the manufacture of rubber and plastics products and other non−metallic mineral products (−1.9% after +0.5%), the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (−1.6% after +3.6%), the manufacture of wood and paper products; printing and reproduction of recorded media (−0.7% after −0.3%), other manufacturing, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (−0.3% after −0.6%), and the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel, leather and related products (−0.7% after −0.5%). The turnover was virtually stable in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (+0.1% after −0.1%).
Exports sales in “other manufacturing” slipped back in June (−3.4% after +2.0%).
Downturn in machinery and equipment goods (−2.2%)
In June 2019, the turnover in machinery and equipment slipped back (−2.2% after +0.7% in May). It decreased in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (−4.4% after +1.3%), in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (−1.3% after +0.5) and in the manufacture of electrical equipment (−0.7% after +0.4%).
Export sales also fell back in machinery and equipment goods in June (−7.8% after +3.3%).
Further decrease in food products and beverages (−0.6%)
The turnover in the manufacture of food products and beverages fell again in June (−0.6% after −1.7%). Export sales also decreased (−1.4% after −1.2%).
