In June 2019, output in services turned down slightly (−0.3% after +0.5% in May).
The commentary shows variations of subsections by decreasing contribution to the overall variation. The contribution of a subsection depends on the extent of the change and on its weight.

In June 2019, output in services turned down slightly (−0.3% after +0.5% in May).
Services output increased over the last three months
Over the second quarter of 2019, services production increased by 0.6% compared to the first quarter.
It increased in business support activities (+1.2%): it rose sharply in specialised, scientific and technical activities (+1.7%) and more moderatly in administrative and business service activities (+0.6%).
It also grew up slightly in transportation and storage (+0.4%) and in real estate activities (+0.2%). It was near stable in accommodation and food services activities (+0.1%), in information and communication (+0.1%) and in household services (−0.1%).

Output grew sharply over a year
In services, output of the last three months rose sharply over a year (+3.6%).
It went up strongly in business support (+3.7%), be it in specialised, scientific and technical activities (+4.0%) or in administrative and business service activities (+3.4%). It also grew sharply in information and communication (+3.3%), in transportation and storage (+3.4%), in accommodation and food service activities (+4.5%), in real estate activities (+3.1%) and in household services (+3.2%).

In June 2019, backlash in business support
In June 2019, output in business support activities fell back (−0.8% after +0.3%).
Output folded in specialised, scientific and technical activities (−1.2% after +1.3% in May), especially with a downturn in activities of head offices and management consultancy (−2.3% after +0.4%), in scientific research and development (−2.1% after +6.2%), in other professional, scientific and technical activities (−2.6% after +4.0%) and a further decrease in advertising and market research (−0.9% after −1.6%). Only the legal and accounting activities (+0.4% after −0.7%) and the architecture and engineering activities (+0.1% after −0.2%) grew up slightly.
Output went down again in administrative and business support activities (−0.2% after −0.9%). This decrease was due to the one observed in Security and investigation (−4.1% after +0.3%), in services to building and landscape activities (−1.3% after −0.1%) and in employment activities (−0.4% after −0.8%). The output increased in other administrative and business support activities (+1.1% after +0.4%) and in travel agency, tour operator (+7.4% after −3.1%).
Downturn in information and communication
Output in information and communication turned down in June 2019 (−1.0% after +1.2%). The output fell back in computer programming (−1.3% after +0.3%), in telecommunications (−0.7% after +4.2%), in motion picture, sound recording, music publishing (−1.7% after +0.6%) and in edition (−0.8% after +4.1%). It decreased further in Programming and broadcasting activities (−1.3% after −0.3%).
Withdrawal in household services
In June 2019, output in household services dwindled (−1.1% after +4.3%). It folded both in arts, entertainment and recreation (−1.4% after +6.5%) and in other personal services production (−0.4% after +0.1%).
Further decrease in transportation and storage
Output in transportation and storage diminished again in June 2019 (−0.6% after −0.2%). It went down in postal and courier activities (−5.1% after −0.4%) and in air transport (−4.3% after +4.3%) but bounced back in water transport (+5.1% after −2.3%). The output was near stable in land transport (−0.1% after −1.4%) and in warehousing and support for transportation (+0.1% after +0.6%).
Sharp rebound in accommodation and food service activities
In June 2019, output in accommodation and food services recovered sharply (+3.2% after −1.2%). It rebounded strongly in accommodation (+9.8% after −3.6%) and more moderatly in food and beverage service activities (+1.4% after −0.6%).
