In Q4 2018, house prices were slightly lower than in the previous quarter. However, year on year, house prices kept increasing.

Year on year, house prices kept rising
In Q4 2018, house prices were slightly lower than in the previous quarter (-0.2%, not-seasonally adjusted data). Second-hand dwelling prices decreased by 0.4% (after +2.5% the previous quarter) whereas those of new dwellings increased by 2.0% (after -0.1% the previous quarter).
However, year on year, house prices kept increasing (+3.2% after +2.8% the previous quarter). Second-hand dwelling prices grew slightly faster (+3.2% y-o-y) than new dwelling prices (+3.0%).

Revisions
The index of Q3 2018 was revised to include observations recorded after the previous publication. Nonetheless, the year on year variation in housing prices in Q3 2018 is unchanged compared to the previous publication (+2.8%).
