In June 2018, the prices of frequently purchased goods in hyper and supermarkets and in large and predominantly food stores were stable over a month after a slight acceleration to 0.2% in the previous month.
In June 2018, the prices of frequently purchased goods in hyper and supermarkets and in large and predominantly food stores were stable over a month after a slight acceleration to 0.2% in the previous month.
Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices increased by 0.2%, as in May.
Considering all kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods were unchanged after a rise a little more strongly in May than in April.
Year on year, the prices in hyper and supermarkets slowed down
Compared with the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets rose less than in May: +0.6% in June 2018 after +0.8% in the previous three months. In large and predominantly food stores, the prices also slowed down, but a little less markedly (+0.7% year on year after +0.8% in May).
In the other kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods slightly accelerated (+2.0% year on year in June after +1.9%) and remained more dynamic than in large distributors.
Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods slightly slowed down year on year: +0.9% in June after +1.0% in the previous four months.

Stability over a month in food prices in hyper and supermarkets
In June 2018, the prices of food (excluding fresh products) sold in hyper and supermarkets were stable over a month after a little acceleration in May. Year on year, they slightly slowed down for the second consecutive month: +0.8% after +0.9% in May and +1.0% in April.
Meat prices were stable in June after a sharp rebound in May to +0.4%. Year on year, they slowed down, as in May: +1.1% after +1.3%.
The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets fell back by 0.1% over a month after an acceleration in the previous two months. Year on year, their prices were a little more dynamic than in the previous month (+0.3% after +0.4%).
The prices of other food products (excluding fresh food) were unchanged over a month after a slight slowdown in May (+0.1% after +0.2% in April). Year on year, they rose by +1.0%, as in April and May.
Drop in the prices of cleaning and personal care products in hyper and supermarkets
In June, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets fell over a month (−0.3%) after a stability in the previous month. Year on year, they edged down by −0.4% after a slight increase in the two previous months.
