In Hyper and Supermarkets, prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 0.1% in March after a decline by 0.1% in February.
- Year-on-year, prices rose by 0.6% in hyper and supermarkets
- Prices were stable in hypermarkets, they increased slightly in supermarkets (+0.1%)
- In the other retail stores, prices of frequently purchased goods were up 0.3% in March
- Excluding fresh foodstuffs, food and beverage prices grew slightly in March
- New decline in prices of the cleaning and personal care products in March 2013
In Hyper and Supermarkets, prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 0.1% in March after a decline by 0.1% in February.
Year-on-year, prices rose by 0.6% in hyper and supermarkets
In March 2013, prices of frequently purchased goods were 0.6% higher than those of the year before in hyper and supermarkets (+0.5% in February 2013). They rose by 3.3% year-on-year in March 2012.

In the other retail stores, prices of frequently purchased goods went up by 0.3% in March 2013 down from 0.5% in February 2013. Over a year, they rose by 2.7% in March 2013 (unchanged from fromer month). They rose by 5.4% in the year to March 2012.
Excluding fresh foodstuffs, food and beverage prices grew slightly in March
In March 2013, excluding fresh products, food and beverage prices increased by 0.1% in the hyper and supermarkets ; they declined by 0.1% in February 2013. Year-on-year, they rose by 0.8% in March 2013 (up from +0.6% in February 2013). They grew by 3.5%, year on year, in March 2012.
In March 2013, meat prices increased by 0.3% in hyper and supermarkets (up from +0.2 % in February 2013). Year-on-year, meat prices increased by 2.9% in hyper and supermarkets in March 2013 (up from +2.5% in February). In March 2012, they increased by 3.7%, year on year.
In hyper and supermarkets, beverage prices rose by 0.1% in March 2013 (down from +0.2% in February) in connection with lasting effects of the excise duty increases on alcohol from January 2013. Year-on-year, beverage prices rose by 1.3% in hyper and supermarkets in March 2013 (after +1.6% in February and +1.7% in January).
In March 2013, prices of the other food products (excluding fresh foodstuffs) decreased by 0.1% (after –0.3% in February) and by 0.6% year-on-year (–0.7% in February) compared with a rise by 3.0% a year ago.
New decline in prices of the cleaning and personal care products in March 2013
In March 2013, prices of the cleaning and personal care products decreased by 0.2%, more than in February (–0.1%). Year-on-year, prices of these products declined also by 0.2% in March ; they were steady in February 2013. They grew by 2.0% in the year to March 2012.
