In August 2010, the turnover rose in the sector of information and communication (+1.3 %), in business support activities (+0.9 %) and, to a lesser extent, in transportation and storage (+0.3 %). It was broadly steady in real estate activities (+0.1 %). It bounced back in the wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles ( 0.5 %).
Every index in this issue is in value, seasonally and working-day adjusted.
In August 2010, the turnover rose in the sector of information and communication (+1.3 %), in business support activities (+0.9 %) and, to a lesser extent, in transportation and storage (+0.3 %). It was broadly steady in real estate activities (+0.1 %). It bounced back in the wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.5 %).
In the last three months, the turnover increased in all the sectors compared to the three previous months : +3.0 % in transportation and storage, +2.0 % in business support activities, +1.6 % in the sector of information and communication, +1.0 % in the “wholesale trade...”, and +0.6 % in real estate activities.
Compared to the same three months of the previous year, the turnover of the last trimester soared in transportation and storage (+7.9 %) due to the exceptional jumps in February and in July. It also grew in the “wholesale trade...” (+5.2 %), in the sector of information and communication (+5.2 %) in business support activities (+2.9 %) and in real estate activities (+2.4 %).
The SA-WDA evolution in July has been revised by +0.4 point in transportation and storage. The increase, initially announced at +4.6 %, has been corrected at + 5.0 %. In the same period, the turnover’s variation has been corrected by +0.2 point in the sector information and communication, by +0.1 point in business support activities and in “wholesale trade...”. It has been confirmed in real estate activities.
