This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2013:

  • 01/01/2016 – Castelnau-de-Brassac devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Fontrieu (81062) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Fontrieu en lieu et place des communes de Castelnau-de-Brassac (81062), de Ferrières (81091) et du Margnès (81153) devenues déléguées.
