This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2013:

  • 01/01/2017 – Ploubalay devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Beaussais-sur-Mer (22209) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Beaussais-sur-Mer en lieu et place des communes de Plessix-Balisson (22192), de Ploubalay (22209) et de Trégon (22357) devenues déléguées.
