This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2013:
- 01/01/2016 – Sainte-Geneviève-sur-Argence devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein d'Argences en Aubrac (12223) (commune nouvelle).
- 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Argences en Aubrac en lieu et place des communes d'Alpuech (12005), de Graissac (12112), de Lacalm (12117), de Sainte-Geneviève-sur-Argence (12223), de La Terrisse (12279) et de Vitrac-en-Viadène (12304) devenues déléguées.
