Tourism's share of GDP in 2022 Tourism's share of France's GDP almost returns to its 2019 level

In 2022, the share of tourism in GDP was 3.6%, i.e. 0.6 points higher than in 2021. After having fallen sharply during the Covid-19 health crisis, this share is now close to its 2019 level (3.9%). Between 2021 and 2022, the direct gross value added of tourism increased in all activities, and even exceeded its pre-crisis level in transport activities, cultural activities and accommodation.
