This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2019 – Vernet-la-Varenne devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Le Vernet-Chaméane (63448) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Le Vernet-Chaméane en lieu et place des communes de Chaméane (63078) et de Vernet-la-Varenne (63448) devenues déléguées.
