This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2017 – Ruillé-sur-Loir devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Loir en Vallée (72262) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Loir en Vallée en lieu et place des communes de La Chapelle-Gaugain (72063), de Lavenay (72159), de Poncé-sur-le-Loir (72240) et de Ruillé-sur-Loir (72262) devenues déléguées.
