This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2010:

  • 01/01/2016 – Messac devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Guipry-Messac (35176) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Guipry-Messac en lieu et place des communes de Guipry (35129) et de Messac (35176) devenues déléguées.
