This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2010:

  • 01/01/2017 – Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Thue et Mue (14098) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Thue et Mue en lieu et place des communes de Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse (14098), de Brouay (14109), de Cheux (14157), du Mesnil-Patry (14423), de Putot-en-Bessin (14525) et de Sainte-Croix-Grand-Tonne (14568) devenues déléguées.
