In 2013, over their entire working life, 26% of people working or having worked report at least one accident at work, excluding travel accidents, resulting in an injury.

These accidents are more frequent among men (35%), blue-collar workers (40%), farmers (32%) and in the construction sector (42%). People who cumulate several harsh working conditions (noise, vibrations, stress at work, etc.) suffer more often from such accidents. Limiting the focus to accidents that have occurred in the past 12 months, young workers are more likely to be victims than older workers.

When questioned about their most recent accident, a quarter of victims say they keep a discomfort in their daily lives; 8% consider these limitations to be considerable. In three quarters of the cases, the last accident forced the person to stop working for at least one day. In one in five cases, the leave lasted at least 3 months. Once again able to work, 7% of people have not returned to their previous job. Among those who returned to their job, 13% believe that they did not benefit from all the necessary adaptations on the job.
